Our hormones tend to kick in at the worst of times, and sometimes, unexpectedly. Most times, we are able to control them. For most of us though, we can almost guarantee that when our monthly cycle arrives, we are at the mercy of our hormones. They play havoc and cause to to do things we'd never otherwise contemplate. I have a wonderful friend who is well mannered, polite, kind and caring. When her period arrives, she is nasty. It's always better to keep out of her way for the week.
Doctor John R. Lee has a wonderful website with many different topics on the symptoms of PMS and their causes. One article in particular caught my eye, and you can take a look at it by clicking right here. He gives facts and tells us about the misconceptions of PMS. There's also a Hormone Test you can take by clicking here, to see if you have a hormone imbalance. I realize that for most PTLS sufferers, this is a moot point, but it may help someone you know.
Another wonderful website I have seen is Doctor Randolph's Hormone Well. This Doctor specializes in natural treatment for women's health concerns. He is a trained Pharmacist and a Board Certified Gynaecologist, and has built a sound foundation of clinical evidence to support the safety and efficacy of treating patients with human identical hormones (eg estrogens, progesterone, testosterone) vs synthetic hormone replacement therapy. (HRT)
And finally, a featured article on WebMD, from Redbook Magazine. This article gives many different ways to combat the symptoms of your period, such as acne, insomnia, hunger and persistent fatigue. While they won't cure the symptoms we suffer as a result of PTLS, they may lessen them to a certain extent, so that we are a little more comfortable when our monthly cycle hits.
